Preorder the Memory anthology!

Thursday, February 7th, 2013

I'm thrilled to be a part of a new 180-page comics anthology called Memory:

You can preorder it through Kickstarter now. Edited by Jeremy Baum, it features over 40 fantastic artists. Plus, if you pledge at the $10 level you get a PDF of the anthology AND a bunch of other digital comics from contributing artists, including me!

My contribution to the book is Run Backwards, a story I drew during last year's Cartooning All Night. I've reworked it into a full-color vertical five-pager.

My short story stars Iye, an anthropomorphic eyeball inspired by Shuma-Gorath and Suezo. You can read more Iye in my 2012 24 Hour Comic, Heat Seeker.

I hope you'll pop over to Kickstarter and consider preordering Memory!

Heat Seeker, My 2012 24-Hour Comic

Wednesday, October 31st, 2012

For the second year in a row, I banged out a complete 24-page story from scratch for 24-Hour Comics Day. The result is Heat Seeker, an experimental fantasy tale about a mysterious eyeball's journey from cold to warmth.

I'm trying out Issuu for the first time and I'd love to hear your feedback on the reading experience.

I hope you enjoy Heat Seeker. I had a kickass time writing and drawing it, and I want that fun to spill through as you breeze through this weird comic book!

UPDATE: If you hate reading stuff online, you can download a PDF of Heat Seeker.

UPDATE 2: You can also read Heat Seeker on Flickr and deviantART.

My pages from Cartooning All Night 2012

Monday, April 30th, 2012

Last Saturday night, I participated in Cartooning All Night, a section of the larger Art All Night event here in Pittsburgh. I started around 10:30 PM and finished at 12:15 AM. Here's the three-page story I cranked out:

I know, I know. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But gimme a goddamn break!!! I did it in less than two hours. Here are the unedited, uncleaned up pages:

Thx to Pierce Johnson for organizing the activity. It was tons of fun!!

EDIT: Marcel Walker has created a Cartooning All Night Facebook page and scanned the art created at the event. Check out everybody's comics and cartoons from 2012's Cartooning All Night.
