Super Haters concludes!

Thursday, June 26th, 2014

My long running superhero satire webcomic, Super Haters, wrapped up yesterday on its 5th anniversary.

With over 500 strips and host of fantastic collaborators, Super Haters has been one of my most rewarding projects to date.

I decided to officially retire Super Haters because I felt it deserved a celebratory send-off, plus I wanted to create a fun mini-event for all of my friends who've been so supportive over the years.

With that in mind, Justique and I whipped up a special 15-part story consisting of 14 daily webcomics and one video sandwiched in between. We even wrote ourselves into the story. (And I hacked my hair off in the process!)

I also released an unannounced collaboration with Kaylie McDougal, one of my podcasting partners from the AudioShocker. Our story was a long time in the making and it was great to finally get it out there.

With the webcomic complete, that meant it was time to put together one final eBook. Super Haters Guest Artists v3 is a 40-page PDF including the stories I've mentioned here, plus two other fun tales featuring Shawn Atkins and Francisco Gruel.

Detailing the adventures of Destruct-O-Tron and Mind's Eye has been an intense passion of mine for the past 5 years and I'm so thrilled about where that passion has taken me. Thanks to those of you who stuck with Super Haters and made it a truly special experience!

Listen to a new Nik Furious song on the latest episode of Animatic Attack

Monday, February 17th, 2014

On last Friday's episode of Animatic Attack (the AudioShocker's animation podcast), I snuck in a special opening theme -- my new Nik Furious song, Jackpot.

The song is a Valentine's Day gift I made for Justique. This year was our seventh Valentine's Day together, so riffing on the lucky number theme I decided to name the song Jackpot because when I met Justique I hit the jackpot!!!

The music starts at about 3:20 into the episode. It's a mellow instrumental funk jam with a slow go-go style drum beat, fat fretless bass, squealy synths, and acoustic guitar. I hope you dig it!

(FYI, be forewarned... AudioShocker conversation is always NSFW!)
