I'm currently teaching myself how to make 8-bit characters for an upcoming short story and I decided to remake Mario as a learning exercise.
There's something comfortingly hypnotic about this particular sprite. He's a perfect square composed of 3 colors and 168 blocks. I dunno why I care, but I do. It's almost spiritual to me.
I hope I can design a sprite that's half as elegant as Mario here! Wish me luck.
