Sunday Best

Nik Furious: Sunday Best: Buh Rick

Thursday, March 28th, 2013

Buh Rick is a remix of the intro to Brick House by the Commodores.

The evolution of this track is simple -- I was compelled to toy with the iconic sound of the Brick House introduction, layering the song on top of itself and swishing the sound between the left and right speakers.

Ronald LePread's funky bassline, the tight Commodores horns, and Walter "Clyde" Orange's grunts are fun to mess with because of their staccato bounce.

I wish I had more backstory for you, but this is the most straight forward track on my Sunday Best mixtape. I loved the original and I wanted to chop it up. That's it!
